Logistics Operations Specialist
Background and Purpose of the Job:
Become a part of a winning Logistics Operations Team named top in the industry two years running by Gartner, Inc. This fast paced, constantly evolving role offers you the opportunity to manage all of the key functions involved in the Deployment Planning Process for approximately $30MM worth of finished goods annually. Our specialists move quickly within a challenging environment to deploy stock across all of North and South America utilizing all modes of transportation and across all categories. This cross-functional position allows our specialists to gain a true end-to-end view of the entire Supply Chain. What Will You Do
You’re a strategy guru: You will develop, implement and lead cross-functional, fully integrated Supply Chain processes that incorporate capacity planning, overall scheduling and inventory assessments associated with materials management activities. You will establish and implement best practices related to the systems and process that support inventory forecasting, management, purchasing and material control.
You’re a paradox navigator: You will be responsible for collecting and analyzing data that provides business information with which to eliminate non-value added operational activities.
You’re a dot connector: You will provide exceptional service at competitive costs to support the overall strategic direction of assigned categories and the overall business. This position requires the ability to make educated decisions regarding inventory distribution across promotional orders based on Unilever’s strategic inventory goals.
You’re a change maker: This position requires open and strategic communication with many areas of the business in relation to inventory, disposition, transportation constraints and possible stock issues. You will be balancing the operational tradeoffs between internal business constraints and external customer requirements for assigned categories and transportation lanes.
What You’ll need to Succeed
Bachelors Degree from an accredited university with preferred 2 years in Logistics, Planning or Manufacturing Operations
Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with all levels of management and the ability to function effectively as part of a team to gain cooperation of individuals across the organization
Results-oriented, innovative thinker with a focus on continuous improvement with ability to work in a challenging business environment, to demonstrate flexibility by managing numerous priorities concurrently and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.Strong attention to detail
Experience using advanced Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word
