Quality Control Analyst – 3rdShift
Background & Purpose of the Job:
Unilever, located in New Century, Kansas is actively seeking a Quality Control Analyst. The work hours for this role are 3rdShift – 11:00pm to 7:00am. The Incumbent will be responsible for collecting line samples, conducting daily testing in the laboratory, and interacting with the production team on the packaging lines regarding quality standards and ensuring alignment of standards. The Incumbent will also communicate lab requirements from personnel and procedures to the Quality Leader, manage lab procedure systems, and provide R & D support and conduct Intensive Care for VIP and new product innovations.
Who You Are & What You’ll Do:
The Core Responsibilities include the following: Sampling, Microbiological Testing, Weight Control, HACCP/Food Safety, Plant WCM, Documentation, Root Cause Analysis, and Housekeeping.
You’re a Strategy Guru: By using analytical and sensory methods to evaluate products at the time of manufacture.
You’re a Teacher: By interfacing with Production to function as a technical resource for quality requirements.
You’re a Dot Connector: By assisting in troubleshooting and production improvement investigations; as well as implementation of corrective actions applied.
You’re a Changemaker: By reviewing laboratory SOP’s and assisting in updating, creating and organizing as needed.
Taking ownership of programs – Calibration, Document Control, etc.
Conducting routine and as-needed inspection and testing of various packaging and raw materials being used to manufacture margarine and spread products.
Microbiological testing on intermediate and finished product.
Participating on Quality Strategy teams and activities.
Performing capability sampling and projects.
Performing GMP and internal audits.
Conducting shift quality training – Quality Standards, Weight Control, GMP, etc.
Ensuring appropriate records, documents and reports are completed as required.
What You’ll Need to Succeed:
Bachelor’s Degree in Quality or a related scientific discipline.
A minimum of 2 years of work experience in a Quality/Laboratory environment – college coursework can be considered as work history.
The ability to work 3rdShift hours – 11:00pm to 7:00am, either Sunday through Thursday, or, Monday through Friday.
Excellent communication skills; both oral and written.
Proficiency with computers – MS Office Suite.
